Meet Our Doctors

Ira Naeem

“Founder and Clinical Psychologist”

At the heart of my practice is a deep belief in holistic psychology, understanding mental health as an integration of emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. I am passionate about creating a safe, empathetic space where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to navigate their healing journey. My approach combines compassion with evidence-based treatments, with a firm belief that taking care of our mental health is essential for leading a fulfilling life. After years of working in Dubai’s mental health sector, I founded Meer Psychiatric Clinic to offer personalized and comprehensive psychological care.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and work with adolescents (11 years and above) and adults. My focus includes mood disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and trauma-related conditions. While I do not work with couples or eating disorders, I offer treatment for a wide range of psychological challenges through a multimodal and integrative approach.

Now, as the founder of Meer Psychiatric Clinic, I am committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based psychological services that promote healing, growth, and emotional well-being. Meer is a space where mental health is prioritized, and each person’s unique story is respected and supported.

Dr Hana Al Geilani

“Specialist Psychiatrist”

Dr Hana Al Geilani is a Specialist Psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical experience dedicated to helping children, adolescents and adults navigate the complexities of mental health with compassion, curiosity and hope.
She believes that every patient is far more than a diagnosis. Labels can be useful, but they never define a person. Each individual’s experiences, relationships, personality, values, physical health, and life story shape the way emotional suffering develops and the way healing occurs. Rather than treating a diagnosis, Dr Hana treats the person sitting in front of her.
She approaches every consultation with genuine curiosity and humility, recognising that no textbook can ever replace truly listening to another human being. One of the principles that guides her practice is the belief that “the man who knows something knows nothing at all.” No matter how many years of experience she has, every patient teaches her something new. She understands that two people with the same diagnosis may have entirely different struggles, strengths, and paths to recovery.
Dr Hana believes psychiatry should never be reduced to prescribing medication. While medication can be life-changing for many, meaningful recovery comes from understanding the whole person. She carefully explores biological, psychological, social, lifestyle and environmental factors, recognising the profound connection between physical and mental health. Sleep, nutrition, hormones, chronic illness, relationships, trauma, purpose, and daily habits are all considered as important pieces of the same puzzle.
Her philosophy is to treat symptoms that cause suffering while always searching for the deeper factors maintaining them. Rather than asking only “What diagnosis does this patient have?” she asks “What has happened to this person? What keeps them stuck? What will genuinely help them move forward?”
Patients often describe feeling truly heard for the first time. Dr Hana understands that healing begins when people feel safe enough to speak openly without fear of judgement. She strives to create a calm, collaborative and compassionate space where patients feel respected, understood and empowered to participate in decisions about their own care.
Her treatment plans are personalised, evidence-based and practical, integrating medication where appropriate with psychological strategies, lifestyle interventions and supportive psychotherapy. She believes recovery is rarely about eliminating every symptom; it is about helping people reclaim meaningful, fulfilling lives despite adversity.
Beyond the consultation room, Dr Hana is passionate about improving mental health awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding psychiatric illness. Through education, public engagement and advocacy, she hopes to encourage more people to seek help early and to understand that asking for support is an act of courage, not weakness.
For Dr Hana, psychiatry is not simply a profession—it is a lifelong commitment to understanding people, relieving suffering, and walking alongside patients with empathy, honesty and hope.

“Every patient has a story. Every story deserves to be heard. Understanding that story is often the beginning of healing.”

At your own pace, we will build your ‘life compass’ – a clear sense of direction that helps you move toward a more flexible and meaningful way of living, one that makes room for the full range of thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.
